South Park: The Stick of Truth Delayed

One of the most notoriously shifting video game products of recent times...gets set back again.
Ubisoft Games and Obsidian Entertainment have today announced an alteration in the release date of their upcoming animated RPG South Park: The Stick of Truth. Until today, the Trey Parker and Matt Stone-helmed title was due for release this December, but unforeseen development issues have initiated a setback into the early months of 2013.

On one level, it's always a great shame to see any anticipated title such as this pushed back by a considerable length of time. At the same time, though, at least Ubisoft, Obsidian and the narrative's writers are intent on reaching, as Parker and Stone so eloquently put it, the "crappy standards of the show" rather than merely releasing the product for financial gain in a hurry. Ubisoft can't be pleased on this matter, however, as it essentially means that Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is their final major entertainment product launch of 2013 when Watch Dogs and The Stick of Truth were originally both set to launch in the weeks following its release. Thankfully, the developers have at least presented their fans with a brilliant gameplay trailer, which can be viewed below.

South Park: The Stick of Truth will now fart-blast onto Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on March 6th, 2014.
