Delve beyond the storyline of this Summer's blockbuster sequel in three months' time!Activision and Beenox have today announced the official UK release date of their upcoming superhero video game The Amazing Spider-Man 2. A companion to the film of the same name, its narrative will centre on the Webbed Wonder's pursuit of his uncle's killer and will feature classic villains from the comic-books such as Kraven the Hunter and Electro.
The May window in which TASM2 is currently set to ship is a fairly hazard-free period right now. Watch Dogs has yet to set a global release date beyond the vague 'Spring 2014' release window, but a recent listing on the PlayStation Network indicates that it'll be here on June 30th, allowing this potent licensed effort the perfect opportunity to shine. Beenox's original Amazing Spider-Man title certainly demonstrated a lot of promise, so if the open-world is a little denser and the missions boast more variety, then don't be too shocked if this turns out to be one of the surprise hits of 2014's first half. Incidentally, pre-order it at GAME and you'll receive a DLC code granting early access to the Iron Spider, Spider-Man Noir, Spider-Man 2099 and Venom suits as well!
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will swing onto PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Nintendo WiiU, Nintendo 3DS and PC this May 2nd.
