Batman Arkham City: Bane, Talia & Trailer
We’ve already got Two-Face, Catwoman, the Penguin, Victor Zsaz, Poison Ivy, the Riddler and of course the Joker confirmed as villains in Batman: Arkham City, and now it seems we can now add even more foes to the list. A comic book series bridging the storylines of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City has been released over the past few months in America, and it has been revealed that Bane will feature in the fifth edition of these, running a temporary fighting club in the cordoned off part of Gotham and eventually resorting to dramatic entertainment. The villain appeared in 2009’s Asylum (10/10), and was last seen clutching a crate of empowering Titan formula having been knocked into a river by the Batmobile, so this seems to confirm he will appear in the upcoming sequel. Bane hasn't been mentioned at ComicCon, but it has been confirmed that villainess Talia Al Ghul will appear in the game, plus we've got a new Penguin-themed trailer that reveals an appearance by the little-known enemy Solomon Grundy too below. Batman: Arkham City is out here on October 21st.
Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 Announced
Capcom have announced Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 for release later this year. Following the Super format of the Street Fighter franchise, the package will contain twelve more fighters than the original game, more balanced fighting options and a new spectator mode to use online. The roster of characters you play as has been confirmed to rise to a staggering number of 50, with additions including iconic heroes such as Ghost Rider and Hawkeye, so fans of MVC3 can really feel they’ll be getting value for money here, especially as Marvel VS Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds (9.5/10) was already one of the best fighting games available. Ultimate Marvel VS Capcom 3 is due out this Autumn.
StarFox 3D Release Date Confirmed
The release of upcoming game remake StarFox 64 3D has been narrowed down to September 9th. The title, available exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS, was originally available as a flight shooter on the Nintendo 64, and was met with critical acclaim upon the time of its release. Naturally, with the technology now on offer in Ninty’s newest handheld a graphical and aesthetic update was the next logical step given the cult following StarFox 64 received, but as with many other left-wing video games set to please certain fanbases it’s hard to predict how well this promising game will fare against the big hitters of 2011’s Autumn of Gaming such as Resistance 3 and Gears of War 3. We’ll see…

GoldenEye 007: Reloaded Announced
There were mixed reactions when GoldenEye 007 (9/10), a revamped version of the classic Nintendo 64 video game, was announced for release last year exclusively on the Wii: owners of Nintendo’s current home console were overjoyed to hear that the killer FPS was making a return, while owners of 360s and PS3s were disappointed that there would be no high-definition version for their consoles. Thankfully, the popularity of the aforementioned revamp on Wii has prompted Activision to rectify the latter. GoldenEye 007: Reloaded will hit Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 later this year. A port of the Wii game, this version will include improved graphics, better AI and a ‘Spec Ops’ style mode to extend replay value, plus all of the great multiplayer modes present in last year’s shooter. The Daniel Craig revamp was amongst my favourite shooters and overall Wii games of all time, so seeing it back so soon in HD form is a dream come true! GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is due out in September.
