Ubisoft have today released a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming third-person action-adventure video game Assassin's Creed Rogue. Developed primarily by Ubisoft Sofia, Rogue is a spiritual successor to both Assassin's Creed III and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag which focuses largely on the exploits of Irish assassin-turned-Templar Shay Cormac in the midst of the infamous Seven Years' War, a conflict which raged between the French and the Indians during the 18th Century.
This time around, it's Shay who's going under the metaphorical radar, with his roots as an Assassin and the inner conflict which prompted him to switch sides being the central point of focus in the latest cinematic trail for what's considered by many to be a narrative that acts as a companion to the similarly highly-anticipated Assassin's Creed Unity. Whilst we already knew that Haytham Kenway (who features in the footage) would be making an appearance in the final product, eagle-eyed (no gameplay mechanic-inspired pun intended) series veterans have managed to spot Black Flag's Adewale here, which could well imply that perhaps the most beloved character from last year's buccaneering instalment will go head-to-head with his Creed's most infamous deserter at some point in the main campaign. Whatever happens, one thing's for sure - we'll have full reviews of both Rogue and Unity soon after their simultaneous launches!
Assassin's Creed Rogue sails exclusively onto PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this November 14th.
