The CW have this week announced a new guest star who will feature in a recurring capacity in the third season of their increasingly audacious superhero drama Arrow. Scheduled to return to our screens next month, the series follows Oliver Queen's journey to shed his image as a vigilante and ultimately take on the persona of the iconic DC Comics archer known to the world at large as Green Arrow (or the Hood).
In a move not dissimilar to their casting of the up-and-coming Australian star Manu Bennett as Slade Wilson (aka Deathstroke), the US studio have once again gone with a slightly lesser-known thespian to portray the leader of the now-infamous League of Assassins (who themselves first appeared in a recurring capacity in the second season). Riddick star Matt Nable will follow in the footsteps of Liam Neeson as he adopts the mantle of the seemingly immortal warrior Ra's Al Ghul in Season Three, appearing first in the fourth episode of the run - which currently goes by the name "The Magician" and will mark the programme's momentous 50th instalment - and then returning to Starling City to wreak subsequent havoc further down the line. Keep it locked at On-Screen in the days ahead as we move closer to the season première and (eventually) the small-screen début (a teaser trailer for which can be glimpsed below) of one of the best loved characters in the entire DC universe...
Arrow will return for its explosive third season on The CW this October 8th and on Sky1 this Autumn.
