The original Goldeneye for Nintendo 64, an adaptation of the closely related James Bond film, was released in 1997 to brilliant reception and is still considered the first defining first-person shooter of gaming. So does Goldeneye 007, a remake crafted for the Nintendo Wii, pack the goods to still stand amongst legends such as Call of Duty even today? It certainly appears so: reviews so far have been overwhelmingly positive, with IGN giving the title a 9/10, the Official Nintendo Magazine 90% and CVG rating it at a whopping 8.8/10! The title, RRP £40, sets you as Daniel Craig’s Bond in a modern world where not everything is as it seems, and a manipulative figure emblazoned with a golden eye waits in the shadows…so where’s my verdict?
