Nintendo E3: Live Blog

It's almost time for Nintendo to announce new 3DS games, new Wii titles and ultimately their next home console, the successor to the Wii currently dubbed 'Project Cafe'. I'm going to be right here at 5pm bringing you all the latest updates from the conference, so keep refreshing as the new posts should be pretty constant!
3.15pm: Two hours to go- we know Super Mario 3DS, Paper Mario and Mario Kart are likely to be the 3DS biggies, but it's the unveiling of Cafe we're most excited about. Apparently, the new console will feature controllers with screens that can be used as portable consoles too, plus HD graphics and a great launch line-up. Back at 5!
4.15pm: Just played some Sonic Colours and Metroid: Other M (reviews later)- such great but overlooked games, like GoldenEye- I hope the Wii games announced here keep our attention until the next console comes out!
5.00pm- It's about to start...
5.06pm- We're seeing footage of Zelda games so far...
5.10pm- More Zelda footage with a live orchestra- something to do with 25th Anniversary...
5.15pm- Now they're looking at the music of the series- no idea what the announcement is! Yes we do, Link's Awakening is now available on the Nintendo eShop Channel. Four player co-op Four Swords coming for free on DSi this September, Skyward Sword out on Wii this Winter. Special gold Wii remote available alongside it.
5.20pm- Right, dinner, back ASAP!
5.45pm- Mario Kart 3DS and Super Mario 3DS coming this Winter, as is Luigi's Mansion 2. The new console is 'WiiU'.
5.50pm- The WiiU controller has a touch screen, accolemeters, camera, rumble function, two analogue sticks. Continue playing your game on the controller after you turn off the TV. Watching the trailer, the tech looks amazing- ZELDA IN HD!!!
5.55pm- Incredible stuff, compatible with all the Wii peripherals, such as weighing yourself with the Balance Board on a small screen.
6.00pm- Smash Bros for 3DS and Wii U!!!
6.05pm- Can do graphics on the scale of 360 and PS3, you can still use Wii remotes so multiplayer just involves bringing either the new controller or your remotes. LEGO City Stories is a confirmed title, as are Darksiders II, Ghost Recon Online, BATMAN ARKHAM CITY (!!!), DIRT, ASSASSIN'S CREED (!!!), Aliens Colonial Marines, Metro: Last Light, and Tekken.
6.10pm- Most EA franchises coming to Wii U too, Battlefield 3, Harry Potter, Burnout and Army of Two.
6.15pm- And...we're...done! Another very good conference, perhaps too much focus on the Wii U and pretty much nothing to say why we should still be excited for Wii releases bar Skyward Sword. I'll be covering the announcements tomorrow but for now thanks for reading and try to take it all in...
