Games News Round-Up

There are a selection of recent video gaming news pieces that don't need their own articles, too minor for that, but will doubtless come of interest to a variety of their respective fanbases, so I've grouped the most important together below...
  • 505 Games' Rugby World Cup 2011 is coming to the UK on September 8th, it's been confirmed today. The anticipated sports title, out for 360 and PS3, will feature a player and attributes editor, and of course allow rugby fans to play through a replica of the entire tournament.
  • Final Fantasy XIII-2 has seen another push back here from developer Square Enix: previously scheduled to release alongside the North American version in January 2012, the developer has said the UK will be getting it instead in 'early 2012', likely to mean February and March and notably put us behind both Japan and the States for the JRPG.
  • Another delay has come as well, this time for Twisted Metal, the PS3-exclusive destruction racer initially scheduled for release this Autumn. We're now confirmed to see it worldwide in 'early 2012'.
  • Finally, a Collector's Edition of the very eagerly awaited fantasy role-playing game The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has been announced. Priced at a hefty £129.99, the set contains an impressive 12-inch statue of a dragon, as well as an art book, a DVD documentary on the making of Skyrim, a large map of the gameplay area and of course the game itself. Doesn't seem worth adding £89.99 to the game's original RRP to me, but for some fans this might be a dream come true- who knows...
