2011 Film Review Predictions

Speaking on this summer's line-up of films, Iron Man director Jon Favreau called it the "Omaha Beach" of the cinema. So let me show you what's coming up and my thoughts on which beasts will survive (/5s are predictions)...
THOR- Tries to do too much as once, tying Avengers and fantasy badly. A mere prelude to July's Captain America. 3/5
PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES- Similar to the others, more fun but less innovation. 3.5/5
THE HANGOVER: PART II- A shameless attempt to milk more cash from a one-hit wonder and it shows. 2.5/5
KUNG FU PANDA 2- Jack Black is still great as Po, as are all the other returnees, but the plot is a weak one that can't sustain itself. 3/5
X-MEN: FIRST CLASS- Tries to be something it's not (period drama) and thus loses the edge of its genre (superhero film). Average at best, rubbish at worst. 3/5
GREEN LANTERN- Caught up amongst all the big names, this one may just be a hidden gem waiting to happen. 4/5 (or 1/5 if something goes wrong)
TRANSFORMERS 3- It's Michael Bay through and through, and without Megan Fox the magic is lost (that may just be the male opinion, though) 2.5/5
CAPTAIN AMERICA- Hopefully magnificent, but I really don't know yet. 5/5...?
HARRY POTTER & THE DEATHLY HALLOWS PART 2- Hopefully the perfect send-off to the franchise, I really can't call this one. 5/5, 4.5/5, 4/5, 3.5/5...etc
SPY KIDS 4- Fans of the first three will love it, newcomers won't see the appeal. 3/5
JOHNNY ENGLISH REBORN- Rowan Atkinson is back but highly predictable. 2/5
PARANORMAL ACTIVITY 3- You should know what to expect by now...? 3/5
PUSS IN BOOTS- It's Shrek without Shrek. Still good? Well, kind of. 3.5/5
BREAKING DAWN PART 1- It's another Twilight so I can't call this one at all.
ALVIN & THE CHIPMUNKS 3- It got old with #2, now it's a true cash cow. 0/5
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 4- Seriously, did we really need this? The same- again. 2/5
SHERLOCK HOLMES 2- Not as good as the original, but still fun while it lasts. 4/5
WAR HORSE- Original and moving, one of the best of 2011 closes it with a bang. 5/5
