Updates To Marvel At- Excelsior!

Marvel comic adaptations are coming thick and fast nowadays-X-Men: First Class, Thor and Captain America: The First Avenger are all set for release this Summer, with loads more to come from 2012 onwards. An update came this week on spiritual (in more ways than one!) sequel Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance from director Brian Taylor: "We're looking at it an evolution, it takes place years after the original, but we have completely revisioned the back story of Ghost Rider." Seeing as words not unlike those were used to try and assure fans that The Amazing Spider-Man will fit into the continuity of the Toby Maguire trilogy when in reality we knew it's a reboot, so Spirit of Vengeance might turn out very different to its predecessor. 20th Century Fox could also be working on a Daredevil reboot, too, if reports from Variety are to believed, starting over after the attempt with Ben Affleck to bring the blind crusader to the big screen in 2003, set for release a decade after that! A couple of new developments have occurred in the X-Mendepartment, too: a new trailer for First Class has been released in Russia with brand new footage (take a look here for that), while the film's producer Bryan Singer has said that the screenplay team "did their best to maintain continuity with the other films, but for the sake of the compelling story a few concessions had to be made". Sad news has come of Darren Aronofsky's departure from standalone spin-off The Wolverine due to family issues, yet 20th Century Fox assure us they're "aggresively looking for a replacement", with Aronofsky noting that the film has a "terrific script" and that "he was very much looking forward to working with Hugh Jackman". On the other side of the pond (DC, that is), it's also been confirmed that Superman: The Man of Steel will be pitched similarly to Batman Begins and not like its predecessors. That's all for now, true believers!
