Glee has had sensational success both in the US and UK, not to mention a wealth of music CD releases over the course of 2010, now culminating with "The Christmas Album". It's certainly not lacking in memorable choices, with the cast's renditions of Jingle Bells and Silent Night proving particular favourites for me, but even the most hardened fan will struggle to see the general point of the release other than the seasonal relevance. Clearly, it's not going to be a soundtrack that comes out of speakers come Spring 2011, so the re-play value of the set is fairly limited bar this time of year! Despite this obvious drawback, "The Christmas Album" does what it sets out to from the offset, providing a merry selection of melodies to keep fans entertained in the days leading up to Christmas.
