GDC: Third Saint's Row Announced

Saint's Row fans will be pleased to hear that another gun-slinging instalment will be punching its way onto the streets this Autumn. Creatively titled Saint's Row: The Third, the series revamp will this time place you as a crime lord who does not need to ascend from slums to riches, as he's already there. While that is pretty much all we know so far, it's undoubtedly an intriguing premise, and more news is definitely going to come at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) this Summer. My only worry is that the series, so obviously trying to replicate the success of Grand Theft Auto and for the most part failing in the previous two games, will have the rug swept under its feet when the likes of Batman, Skyrim and Gears are out at the same time later this year, probably getting colossal review scores while this gets simply moderate scores that in any other year of video gaming might have been higher. Saint's Row: The Third is due for release in Q3/Q4 2011, and you can expect the first game-play trailer here very soon!
