Coming Up This Week: February 18th-24th

Bond Is Back on Blu-Ray, plus Assassin's Creed III, Ant & Dec, Doctor Who and the Academy Awards return- and the PlayStation 4 is coming...
It's safe to say that the final full week of February (I know- blimey!) is absolutely jammed full of MASSIVE entertainment releases and news reveals that could potentially knock the socks off of just about any fan on the planet Earth. From Skyfall to Saturday Night Takeaway, from the PlayStation 4 to the plaudits handed to big 2012/early 2013 films at the new Academy Awards, there truly is something for everyone in the seven days ahead. Keep it On-Screen, because you will not want to miss all of this...
SKYFALL DVD & BLURAY- Yes, it's time: James Bond is BACK. Skyfall was a worldwide phenomenon when it released as the centrepiece of the Bond 50 celebrations last Autumn, and it's DVD & Blu-Ray retail release has been rightly just as anticipated. Witness the action, the drama and the pure heartbreak of this stunning trilogy conclusion over and over again...(Monday 18th)
HALO 4: SPARTAN OPS FINALE- For Spartan Majestic, the final mission of Requiem has arrived. Doctor Halsey is safe, but as the Covenant make their final moves to destroy Infinity and the true extent of the Forerunner return is revealed to the universe, the Spartan IVs must race against time once more to end the investigation of this mysterious and dangerous planet once and for all! Expect the first hints at what Halo 5 could hold in 2014 from 343 Industries right here! (Monday 18th)
ARROW: THE ODYSSEY- There's change afoot for the Hood this week, as he's shot by his own mother and forced into a coma as Diggle and new ally Felicity race to bring him back to life. Oliver must find the courage to restore his essence, yet to do so will require a journey into the darkest depths of his flashbacks to the island- can even he make it out of this deadly incursion alive? (Monday 18th)
GAME OF THRONES: THE GHOSTS OF HARRENHAL- Arya is finally offered a way out of the hell-hole of Harrenhal, while the ongoing civil war of the Baratheon brothers reaches its breathtaking crux in the midst of a major conflict within the Lannister ranks in King's Landing as Sky Atlantic's Game Of Thrones Season 2 re-run reaches its halfway point. (Monday 18th)
ASSASSIN'S CREED III: THE INFAMY- A three-part The Tyranny Of King Washington single-player DLC campaign kicks off right here. When Connor discovers his mother alive and well and George Washington made King of America thanks to a Piece of Eden, he realises that he is an alternate reality, but how can he escape it, and how do his new adventures tie into the recently announced Assassin's Creed IV coming this Winter? The truth begins right here...(Tuesday 19th)
THE FUTURE OF PLAYSTATION- Yes, you guessed it- it's the PlayStation 4 reveal! We've had leaked images of the touch-screen equipped PS4 controller, yet it's at this lofty event that we'll start to get the first hints from Sony as to what the future holds for their PlayStation hardware, perhaps with teases of the PS4 software launch line-up too. Be prepared for 6pm that day! (Wednesday 20th)
METAL GEAR RISING REVENGEANCE- The Metal Gear franchise is back- but not quite how you might expect. It's Raiden's time to shine on 360 and PS3 in Metal Gear Rising, a sequel to 2008's Guns Of The Patriots that explains the character's cyborg nature in a spin-off narrative manner that should easily appease fans until Ground Zeroes lands. (Thursday 21st)
CRYSIS 3- What with all the ruckus surrounding Tomb Raider, BioShock Infinite, Injustice: Gods Among Us and Gears Of War: Judgement's releases in the next two months, it's easy to miss certain big games such as Crysis 3. Nonetheless, CryTek's threequel ain't to be trifled with, boasting the closest graphics we'll get to the next-generation of consoles until they hit later in 2013, and a stunning refined gameplay engine for the Nanosuit to boot...(Friday 22nd)
ANT & DEC'S SATURDAY NIGHT TAKEAWAY- Three years. That's precisely how long it's been since the last new full series of Saturday Night Takeaway. Doesn't time fly? Well, now I'm A Celebrity hosts Ant and Dec are back for a new season of the hit iTV UK Saturday night live shows, bringing with them a host of celebrity stars and hilarious advertisement-beating competitions for viewers to partake in and as such lending a whole new lost air of magic once again to the realms of television. We have missed this! (Saturday 23rd)
DOCTOR WHO: THE NAMELESS CITY- Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary celebrations continue this month with a new celebratory Second Doctor eBook short story on Kindle and iPad devices. This time it's Michael Scott- an acclaimed Irish author- taking up the pen, sending the Time Lord and his companion Jamie McCrimmon into the pages of a magical book for a new sci-fi adventure to continue the festivities. (Saturday 23rd)
BEING HUMAN: THE GREATER GOOD- The final season of Being Human begins to rush towards its climax. With Hal owing Mr Rook a favour, he agrees to get Crumb and his new recruit back under control, while Rook also endeavours for Tom to meet a new werewolf friend. Nevertheless, dark times are ahead, as Captain Hatch manipulates events to provoke further vampire-werewolf conflict that can fuel his powers, and Alex begins to realise the terrible truth of her 'unfinished business'...(Sunday 24th)
ACADEMY AWARDS 2013- Amour. Argo. Beasts Of The Southern Wild. Django Unchained. Les Miserables. Life Of Pi. Lincoln. Silver Linings Playbook. Zero Dark Thirty. These eight monumental motion pictures will enter the fray for the mighty Best Picture Oscar among countless other great nominees for brilliant categories- but the question is, who will reign victorious? There's only one way to find out: see the Academy Awards for 2013! (Sunday 24th)
AND THERE'S MORE- Get the entire Daniel Craig Bond series so far with Daniel Craig 007 Triple Pack: Casino Royale/Quantum Of Solace/Skyfall, David Attenbrough's Africa and the Top Gear Bond 50 Cars special, all out on DVD & Blu-Ray tomorrow too.
AND NEXT WEEK...Oliver enters into a passionate relationship and Moira makes her move against Malcolm as Arrow continues, Game Of Thrones plays with gods both Old and New in its sixth episode of the Sky Atlantic Season Two re-run and Being Human nears its climax in its epic penultimate instalment!
AND IN TWO WEEKS...In case that first calmer week beyond the coming one doesn't sound all that action-packed, rest assured that in two weeks' time, as March enters its first full week, there's plenty more to come. Tomb Raider and Oz: The Great & Powerful launch, Derek and Being Human reach their season finales, all is revealed on Doctor Who's Anniversary Season in DWM 458; Argo reaches DVD & Blu-Ray retailers; Arrow and Game Of Thrones continue and the author of the 50th Anniversary Who Third Doctor eBook is revealed! Now that's another big week...
