Previewing The Next Two Months Of Entertainment

Gaze ahead to what March and April 2013 hold for the industry!
As we're just ten days away now from the end of February already, it seems an apt moment in time to kick off one of our new features for 2013- 'Previewing The Next Two Months Of Entertainment'. We'll host these regular features in February, April, June, August and October to glance ahead to what the following two months of entertainment hold for fans of various franchises and genres. Without further ado, then, let's see what March 2013 and April 2013 have in store...
STICK ON THE TELLY- After a quiet first two months for the realms of the small screen, the BBC and other channels are ramping up their new instalments in March and April. We already know that we can expect more from Arrow, Derek, Comic Relief Red Nose Day, Being Human, Game Of Thrones, Britain's Got Talent and biggest of all Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary season, Series Seven Part Two, in these two action-packed months, and you can be sure that there's even more to come...
AT THE MOVIES- Meanwhile, the box office listings aren't quite as busy in March and April as they have been these past two months. There are a few big highlights, though- Oz: The Great And Powerful; Jack The Giant Slayer; The Host; G.I. Joe: Retaliation; Scary Movie 5 and Iron Man 3 will bulk out in the sixty-one days ahead, each dominating the ticket sales and indeed hopefully with a couple of critical successes too. Never mind the quite times, however, as from May onwards, the Summer Of Film 2013 season is coming!
GAME ON- Mercifully, March and April bring with them some of the first BIG video game releases of 2013, among the most-anticipated of the year. We won't have much else between May and September (with Grand Theft Auto V releasing then), yet until then we can revel in Tomb Raider, LEGO City Undercover, Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time, BioShock Infinite and even Injustice: Gods Among Us, all due with us before the end of the fourth month of 2013.
READ ALL ABOUT IT- Obviously, the realms of the page are always up to personal preference, yet there are one or two cult highlights to come before April's climax. Doctor Who has two eBook short stories with famed authors penning adventures for the Third and Fourth Doctors, as well as New Series Adventures novels including Shroud Of Sorrow, The Dalek Generation and Plague Of The Cybermen, all celebrating in big scale for the 50th Anniversary. On top of that, Derek Landy is bringing us a new Skulduggery Pleasant spin-off novella in the form of Tanith Low In...The Mysterious Seven at the end of March, so look forward to that!
MOVIES ON SHELVES- There are plenty of big DVD & Blu-Ray film releases on their way to retailer shelves in the next two months. Argo, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 2 and The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey are the major highlights, but for all the latest news here you need only check out our regular 'Coming Up This Week' series of features every week for the big updates.
