Ant-Man Lead Star Announced

The Marvel Cinematic Universe invites one of Hollywood's biggest comedy stars to take the stage.Marvel Studios have today announced the name of the lead actor set to star in their upcoming superhero film Ant-Man. The first instalment in Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise, Ant-Man will mark a departure from the norm in releasing across cinemas worldwide just months after the premiere of Joss Whedon's Avengers: Age of Ultron.

The man confirmed to adopt the mantle of Hank Pym and his superhero alter-ego is none other than Paul Rudd. Currently appearing in Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues, Rudd's filmography in the comedy genre is an illustrious back-catalogue, his talents in the realms of humour plentiful. Ant-Man won't debut until his own origins film, but it isn't too far a reach to speculate that the character will then appear in The Avengers 3 in 2017, with Rudd reprising his role alongside Robert Downey Jr., the only member of the titular ensemble confirmed to return for its threequel at present.
