New The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Synopsis Released

Electro, Rhino and the Green Goblin challenge the Webbed Wonder to his greatest battle.
Sony Pictures have today released the second full plot synopsis for their upcoming superhero film The Amazing Spider-Man 2. The sequel to the 2012 reboot, this second instalment stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Jamie Foxx, Paul Giamatti, Dane DeHaan and Chris Cooper.

As you can see from the new promotional poster (above), Electro, the Rhino and the Green Goblin are now all confirmed to feature in the follow-up. Here's the latest plot brief: "We've always known that Spider-Man's most important battle has been within himself: the struggle between the ordinary obligations of Peter Parker and the extraordinary responsibilities of Spider-Man. But in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker finds that a greater conflict. There's no feeling quite like swinging between skyscrapers, embracing being the hero, and spending time with Gwen. But being Spider-Man comes at a price: only Spider-Man can protect his fellow New Yorkers from the formidable villains that threaten the city. With the emergence of Electro, Peter must confront a foe far more powerful than he. And as his old friend, Harry Osborn, returns, Peter comes to realise that all of his enemies have one thing in common: OsCorp." A new trailer for the film is due for release this Thursday December 5th.

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 swings into UK cinemas on April 18th, 2014.
