20th Century Fox have today released the first teaser trailer for their upcoming fantasy thriller film Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Set ten years after the events of 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes, the sequel stars Andy Serkis as intelligent primate leader Caesar and Gary Oldman as one of the few remaining human survivors of Rise's plague.
Despite only seven months separating fans and the movie, the preview (below) doesn't reveal anything new on the plot of the piece. The last remnants of humanity will apparently call upon the co-inhabitants of their planet in order to save both species from their ultimate destruction through civil war. Serkis and Oldman may be the only arguably renowned actors attached to the project (though Zero Dark Thirty and The Great Gatsby's Jason Clarke will feature as well), but much the same was true of the cast ensemble on Rise, and as such it's extremely hazardous to count out the follow-up as of yet...
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes roars into cinemas worldwide on July 11th, 2014.
