Rumour has it the PS4 and Xbox 720 are closer than we thought...
In spite of Microsoft’s countdown timer to E3 seeming to
tease their big reveal, it seems that both the Xbox company and Sony will be
revealing their next-generation consoles before the Summer event. The Game
Developers Conference (GDC) has always been a big marketplace for first-party
announcements, and this year’s event could play host to two big Apple-esque
showcases of the two new consoles reported to arrive in late 2013.
If this is the case, then just what will E3 2013 hold? In my
opinion, we can expect an en masse set of big launch title reveals- think a new
annual Halo, Bungie’s new IP Destiny and Forza Motorsport 5 for the new Xbox, with perhaps LittleBigPlanet 3, Beyond: Two Souls and
a graphically overhauled HD collection on PlayStation 4. This is all
speculation for now, but it could certainly lead us down an interesting path…
The GDC 2013 event kicks
off on March 25th.
