Next year looks to be a much calmer time for
Doctor Who, with the series not set to return until the Autumn. Thankfully, BBC Worldwide are going to try and make up for this
- an
Official Convention has been scheduled for the 24th-25th of March 2012. The convention will feature exclusive interviews with current Doctor Matt Smith, showrunner Steven Moffat and many more icons from the show, focusing mostly on Series Five and Six but also taking a look ahead to the new run and the specials heading into the 50th Anniversary. Tickets will cost £99. Also, Matt provided us with a few more details of what we can expect for starters (this probably isn't everything) on telly from
Who in the next two years:
- At least one full series of 13 episodes (possibly Series Seven Part One in Autumn 2012, Part Two in Spring 2013)
- At least one Christmas Special (2012)
- At least one 50th Anniversary Special (Winter 2013)
So that's looking like 15 episodes in 2012/13, but we should wait for the BBC's official announcement- I wouldn't be surprised if there are a few specials over the course of 2013 as well as the remainder of Series Seven!
