Rainbow Six: Patriots Announced

Ubisoft Montreal have announced Rainbow Six: Patriots, the latest instalment in their hit first-person-shooter franchise, for release in 2013. According to publisher Ubisoft, the new game will feature "a dynamic single-player storyline that captures the reality of modern day terrorism and allows players to experience it from multiple perspectives". Playing on the idea of modern-day terrorism will be sure to send Patriots into controversial territory, so it will be interesting to see where this project ends up in two years time. We're also promised a "huge variety" of co-op and online multiplayer modes, and judging by what we've had in the two Rainbow Six: Vegas games it would be unreasonable to expect anything different anyway. Rainbow Six: Patriots will release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC (although I would suspect we may see a shift to next-gen consoles if the 'Xbox Next' and PS4 get announced at E3 2012) in Summer 2013.
