Blase fairytale remakes seem to be all the rage right now, with Snow White & The Huntsman, Jack The Giant Killer and now Hansel & Gretel: Witch-Hunters all having released within just twelve months of each other in cinemas. Coming up early next year, Hansel & Gretel stars The Bourne Legacy's Jeremy Renner and Prince Of Persia's Gemma Arterton as its lead characters, cast as vengeance-ridden hunters of magical beings who threaten villages, only to encounter a deadly force of magic the likes of which they have never seen. While the first trailer (below) shows some signs of promise, it's hard to think that this is going to be anything other than average given the blatant cash-grabbing title and the track record of the middling stars at its helm. We'll see...Hansel & Gretel: Witch-Hunters hunts its way into cinemas on January 11th, 2013.
