Jim Carrey Joins Kick-Ass 2

Balls To The Wall's big star replacement for Nicholas Cage is confirmed!
As the days of 2012 begin to draw to a close, we'll start looking ahead at what the next year of entertainment holds for the film industry. I have no doubt that at the forefront of our attention will be Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall, an ambitious sequel adaptation to 2010's brilliant superhero comedy that's now gained even more momentum through the casting of Jim Carrey. The comedy star will portray Colonel Stars, a member of the superhero group that Kick-Ass is building called 'Justice Forever'. Much as some of his recent commercial hits (*cough* Mr Popper's Penguins) have been critically underwhelming, Carrey definitely adds even more star appeal to the show on top of the now renowned returnees Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass), Chloe Grace Moretz (Hit-Girl) and Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Red Mist), ensuring that this should easily be a cult follow-up to remember. Right now, I'm happy to admit that this remains my Most Anticipated Film Of 2013, so here's hoping that it can live up to its potential as well as its predecessor did! Kick-Ass 2: Balls To The Wall lands in cinemas everywhere on June 28th, 2013.
