Did Elyan's death and Gwen's turn to the dark side help out this sixth instalment?Merlin's fifth season has been something of a mixed bag so far, with lacklustre episodes such as The Death Song Of Uther Pendragon and Another's Sorrow dragging down the overall quality despite brilliant instalments like Arthur's Bane Part 1 and The Disir. How does the new episode The Dark Tower fare, then? Thankfully, it's ended up on the positive side, with the game-changing shocks in its climax aiding in providing another quality adventure worthy of a 4* ranking from me.
