The Berkshire Book Award has always been a great local event to follow, and to represent the preferences of teenage readers in its shortlist. Here's this year's selection- announced today, I'd say it's going to cater more to girls than it will boys, but there may yet be some hidden gems in there...ARTICHOKE HEARTS (Sita Brahmachari)- Twelve year old Mira comes from a chaotic, artistic and outspoken family where it's not always easy to be heard. The Berkshire Book Award voting system now can open, and the winner will be announced in March 2012.
