VGAs 2011: New Mass Effect 3 Footage Premiered

There's just under three months to go until fans of the Mass Effect franchise can finally get their hands on the concluding instalment in the trilogy. To whet their appetites further, BioWare released a video demo taken from early in the game at the VGAs last night. The demo featured Commander Shepard racing with his team to find the controls that would unleash a Thresher Maw, a demonic creature which held the power to take down the Reaper pursuing the N7 soldiers. Admittedly this footage was fairly linear, but I'm sure this is just one of a few great setpieces that tie together the fresh open-galaxy experience, and with multiplayer on top of the huge campaign I'd say we may well have an early contender for Game of the Year 2012! Mass Effect 3 releases on March 9th.
