Coming Up This Week: January 7th-13th

The second week of 2013 is here- but what does it hold for entertainment fans?
So, we're now a week into the year of 2013, and the entertainment releases have been slow and infrequent so far rather than coming thick and fast. Thankfully, things are beginning to take a bit of a turn this week, with some BIG entertainment releases coming our way in the next seven days. My Most Anticipated Film Of 2013 is about to land, and that's not all either. Without further ado, then, let's see what the next seven days have waiting for us...
ACADEMY AWARDS REVEALED- Yep, it's that time of year again when we discover which films have been nominated for the prestigious Best Picture Academy Award. Expect Lincoln and Life Of Pi to feature in the shortlist for starters, but beyond those, as ever expect big surprises and again hope for some films that viewers will actually have heard of this time around! (Thursday 10th)
LES MISERABLES- As I mentioned earlier, Les Miserables just so happens to be my Most Anticipated Film Of 2013. Perhaps that'll be a falsely given title, perhaps not, yet right now it's looking like the hottest film of the year, boasting a huge cast of British performing legends and some of the most iconic songs of all time rendered in beautiful live fashion. Throw in direction from The King Speech's Tom Hooper, and we just could have a surefire contender for Film Of The Year...(Friday 11th)
STELLA SEASON TWO- You may not have heard of this one, and if that's the case, then you should remedy such an oversight immediatedly. Ruth Jones' comedy-drama Stella got off to a cracking start on Sky1 last Summer, so it's a vastly welcome return, especially with new romances and domestic conflicts on the horizon for Jones' lovable protagonist to deal with! (Friday 11th)
GLEE: BRITNEY 2.0- Following in the midst of tonight's breathtaking opener, the next instalment of Glee takes a detour into uncharted territory. As McKinley High's overgraduated Britanny suffers a psychological breakdown, the staff and students of New Directions must band together to bring her back from the edge, but can it be done? Expect Britney Spears-renditions aplenty in this hilarious new outing for the US musical drama. (Sunday 13th)
AND THERE'S MORE- Josh Brolin and Emma Stone headline the 1930s gang-war movie Gangster Squad, hitting cinemas this Friday; Doctor Who: The Legacy Collection, Call The Midwife's Christmas Special and A Young Doctor's Notebook land on DVD and Blu-Ray tomorrow; and expect the first trailer for Witcher developer CD Projekt's new futuristic video game Cyberpunk 2077 too at some point...
AND NEXT WEEK...Django Unchained storms into cinemas with an almighty ricochet, DMC: Devil May Cry marks the first big video game release of 2013; Monsters Inc goes 3D and Glee gets a Makeover in the seven days succeeding those we have ahead of us!
