EA add to their new Battlefield, FIFA and Madden line-up with another racing game to boot...Electronic Arts have this week continued their series of new annual video game announcements with the confirmation of a new Need For Speed title for release later this year. The news follows in the wake of the publisher's reveals that Battlefield 4, FIFA 14 and Madden 25 will all release before the end of 2013, and should certainly prove an exciting announcement for fans of the 2012 edition, Most Wanted, from Criterion Games.
Of course, if Criterion are handling the next instalment in what EA now dubs an "annualised blockbuster" franchise, then fans who hold a preference to their Burnout franchise (last updated in 2008's hit Burnout Paradise) might rightfully worry if there'll be further delays to the prophesied Paradise 2. Hopefully this won't be the case, with the developers assuring us that we'll hear more on the matter of their car-wrecking competition series in the months ahead.
Need For Speed returns on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and next-generation consoles this Winter.
