Assassin's Creed: Revelations Announced

Weeks of speculation have finally culminated in Ubisoft Montreal's announcement that Assassin's Creed: Revelations will ship for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC this November. Called "the final chapter of the Ezio trilogy", the latest entry in the award-winning franchise will play out as such: "Master assassin Ezio Auditore walks in the footsteps of his legendary mentor, Altair, on a journey of discovery and revelation. It is a perilous path- one that will take Ezio to Constantinople, the heart of the Ottoman Empire, where a growing army of Templars threatens to destabilise the region." While I can't help but feel disappointed that we aren't yet entering a new era with a new Assassin, rumour has it the studio is working on AC3 now and this will bridge the way for its 2012 release much as Halo: ODST did for Reach. We are promised "new features and some significant surprises", as well as the ability to "manipulate the construct of Desmond's memories and the Animus to decipher the mysteries of his past and gain insight into the future." Rumour has it we may even get to play as Altair, too, though that's yet to be addressed by Ubisoft. What we do know is that the "acclaimed online multiplayer experience" will make a comeback having been "refined and expanded" since Brotherhood's release. Assassin's Creed: Revelations will retail this November on 360, PS3 and PC, while 3DS side-story Lost Legacy is also set for release later this year.
