Warner Bros and New Line Pictures have today released the first images for the second and third instalments in their The Hobbit trilogy. Titled The Desolation Of Smaug and There And Back Again respectively, next Winter's sequel will focus on Bilbo and the dwarves' travels through Mirkwood, the forests and the Lonely Mountain itself to steal Smaug's treasure, while the Summer 2014 finale will depict the Battle Of Five Armies and bridge the trilogy with the Lord Of The Rings films. Above, you can see a shot from the second film of Bilbo in Smaug's cave looking up at Benedict Cumberbatch's menacing dragon, and below a shot of Legolas preparing with the elves to go to war with four other races for possession of the stolen gold. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey releases this coming Thursday, The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug on December 13th, 2013 and The Hobbit: There And Back Again on July 18th, 2014.
