The Doctor Who Christmas Special for 2012 moves closer, and as this occurs so too do more new details on the future of Season Seven surface. Here's a round-up of the new snippets of what we know of the future...
- NEW ERA, NEW TARDIS- The official BBC blog for the show has this week confirmed the exciting news that a new TARDIS interior will debut in The Snowmen. Since The Eleventh Hour in 2010 we've had the bold, magical orange variant of the console room, but judging by the teaser image above, we're getting a darker version of the TARDIS more along the lines of the TV Movie version to reflect the mourning of the Ponds. But with mourning comes a bold new era, as Jenna-Louise Coleman steps onto the drama this Christmas...
- THE FINAL COUNTDOWN- Doctor Who TV has revealed a couple of intriguing rumours regarding the final episode of Season Seven. Regular director Saul Metzein has confirmed he'll helm the series finale, and we've got it on good word that both River Song (Alex Kingston) and Doctor Simeon (Richard E Grant) will be back for what one actor calls an "eerie and fascinating" adventure. Perhaps the most intriguing rumour, though, is that a casting double for the late Patrick Troughton may have been spotted on set for a finale cameo, suggesting The Eleven Doctors may actually happen!...
Doctor Who returns on Christmas Day at 5.15pm on BBC One HD.
