Will MTV America's version of the great British comedy succeed?MTV Television have today released the first teaser trailer for their opening season of The Inbetweeners USA. A direct adaptation of the British hit comedy show, the programme will again feature new student Will finding 'solace' with a new group of friends- Jay, Neil and Simon- who each have their own quirks and uncool attributes. Together, they'll learn just how harsh a world the school they study at can be, and just how inept they are to deal with typical teenage situations. Worryingly, the teaser looks pretty near identical to the source content, literally copying gags and events from the original series, so I get the feeling that UK fans will be feeling a strong sense of deja vu when the US version broadcasts here. The Inbetweeners USA kicks off on MTV Stateside in September, while a broadcaster and airdate have yet to be announced for those of us willing to give it a try here in Britain.
