2010 In Games- Summer
Okay, so the Spring was a bit quiet for video gaming- surely the summer months of 2010 could pick up the pace? Apparently not: there were undoubtedly some massive releases from May-August, but it seemed that as with so many other years of gaming before it, 2010 was to be dominated by its second half. Super Mario Galaxy 2, however, was a clear indication of just how successful a Summer release can be, sending Nintendo's mascot into brave, more difficult new territory as he ventured the cosmos on his trusty steed Yoshi in some of the most inventive, exciting and visually engaging levels of the year. The 10/10 it received here was totally warranted for a title with such depth and grandeur! Film games basically consisted of the remainder of Summer, ranging from the excellent Toy Story 3: The Video Game to the not-so-excellent Iron Man 2, but also including a few unpredicted hits like Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. Check back this week for the final part of this look-back at 2010's best!
