I have absolutely nothing against Gran Turismo 5. Its graphics are sublime for a next-generation racing game, the replay value is near-endless and the cars control as adequately as any other title in the genre before it. My problem lies with those words: fans have been waiting for five years for this game- it didn't just have to be good, it had to be great
, and this really isn't. To be honest my time with the game left me far too unsatisfied to call this anything other than a let-down. This is a short review with good reason- we've seen all this before in past entries of Gran Turismo, not to mention every other next-gen racer on the Playstation 3/Xbox 360 consoles so far.
