Come on, don't tell me you weren't expecting this.
Marvel have announced the inevitable news this week- Avengers: Battle For Earth is on its way to consoles later this year. A motion-controlled title, Battle For Earth will not use the narrative of the hit superhero ensemble movie (from which inspiration has so blatantly been taken here) as the basis for its campaign, but instead the Secret Invasion comic storyline where the evil Skrulls invade Earth and begin to hide themselves amongst the heroes and villains of the world using their shape-shifting powers. Over 20 Marvel superheroes and enemies will apparently be incorporated into the plot, so there'll at least be some replay mileage to be had out of playtesting the various super powers and motion gestures. Although I dedicated a whole article over at TechTroid to stating why an Avengers movie game was a risky move on Marvel's part, that Ubisoft are on board as the developer will at least peak my interest for sometime until the first trailer for the game is shown at their E3 conference. Avengers: Battle For Earth will retail for Xbox 360 (Kinect) and the Nintendo WiiU this Autumn.
