What with the lack of a new fully-fledged Sonic console title on the horion for 2012, many SEGA fans were wondering what the developer would have in store for us as a replacement- now they have their answer! Sonic All Stars Racing Transformed has been confirmed for release later this year as a sequel to 2010's great Sonic & SEGA All Stars Racing (8/10). The new game will feature new tracks inspired by franchises like Super Monkey Ball and Panzer Dragoon, as well as a host of additional characters including the villainous Dr Eggman, plus the racing vehicles will now shift into different forms (car; plane etc.) depending on the terrain they traverse. Don't expect much in the way of a storyline, but if you're looking for a great party racer for current-gen HD consoles, then short of re-coding Mario Kart this is as good as you're going to get. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed will retail for PS3, 3DS, Wii and 360 this Autumn.
