Ubisoft have today announced a minor delay in the release schedule of their upcoming third-person action-adventure video game Assassin's Creed Unity. Originally scheduled for release on October 31st in the United Kingdom, the latest instalment in the recently-annualized saga will task players with making a stand as French warrior Arno Dorian in the midst of the destructive conflict known only as the French Revolution.
More importantly, though, Unity will mark the series' first fully-fledged next-generation chapter, launching exclusively on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. As we learned officially earlier this month, current-generation fans will still receive their annual dose of Assassin's Creed in the form of the Xbox 360 and PS3-exclusive Assassin's Creed Rogue (now set to release day-and-date with Unity as a result of the aforementioned development setback, which - Ubi are claiming - has come about due to Ubisoft Montreal hoping to "focus on those minor adjustments that can make a big difference - and ultimately help [the studio] deliver on the promise of the game"), but in truth, this is the product which the vast majority of hardcore series veterans are looking forward to; if nothing else, then, we're at least gladdened by the news that it'll still make its projected Winter 2014 release window, even if the final launch date will be a little later than was initially intended.
Assassin's Creed Unity will now première on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC this November 14th (in the UK - it'll land in US video game retailers on November 11th).
