Last May, author Jeffrey Deaver revealed he was set to pen the next James Bond novel in the style of Ian Fleming for release at the same time in 2011, and today has seen him announce the title of his latest book. Carte Blanche was debuted in Dubai this morning, the country chosen by its scribe as a key plot location for Bond's next mission. Whereas Sebastian Faulks' Devil May Care showed Britain's favourite spy in the 1950s, Deaver's version of Bond will take part in a modern escapade that "tests both his professional and personal judgement", even leaving Agent 007 with the question "are there lines even he should not cross?" Deaver follows a line of great writers who adapted James Bond from the classic novels including Faulks and John Gardener. Carte Blanche is released this May, and should be an exciting filler between the Daniel Craig movies!
