Q3 2012: Top 5 Most Anticipated TV Shows

A Lord Of Time returns to our screens in this exciting third quarter of 2012...
As per usual, the Summer has been quite a quiet time for the television industry recently, with little more than a few decent comedies on air right now that are worth watching. It's a blessing, then, that things will start to get busier from now on, as action-packed dramas and much anticipated sporting events arrive onto our TV sets from July-September. Here are the five programmes I reckon you won't want to miss in the three months of telly goodness to come...
5. THE RICKY GERVAIS SHOW- The hilarious audio animated conversations of Ricky Gervais, Stephen Merchant and Karl Pilkington continue on through the Summer, with more controversial topics thrown into the mix and above all Pilkington's strange sense of truth offering a great sense of humour to the whole series. (July 3rd-31st)
4. GLEE- Although the previous season of Glee ended on a bit of a sour note, that didn't stop the journey to it being mostly brilliant. With Rachel off to NYADA, Kurt to pastures new and Finn to the Armed Forces, the storylines moving in parallel to the New Directions in Series Four should really help to keep things fresh! (September 13th-27th)
3. LONDON 2012 SUMMER OLYMPICS- Yep, it really is time for the sports competition people have been waiting for years for to return in one of the world's greatest countries (or maybe I'm being biased)! There'll be shocks, surprises and a whole lot of running, so get ready for a television event unlike any other to rock your world for a good few weeks of your time...(July 27th-August 12th)
2. MERLIN- Just before we reach the fourth and final quarter of 2012, the Arthurian legends of Camelot rise once more to reveal more secrets of Merlin. Series Five takes the show into all-new territory, as the ramifications of Morgana's dangerous discovery, Merlin's brutal murder of Agravaine and the marriage of Arthur to Guienneviere are felt deeply and the future of the entire kingdom is up for grabs! (September 29th)
1. DOCTOR WHO- But of course at the top of this list must come the return of Doctor Who to our screens after nine months of waiting. We've got Daleks, dinosaurs, Egyptians, cowboys, cyborgs, dangerous cube attacks and a Weeping Angels adventure in New York to bring us the final days of the Ponds, so brace yourselves as we race towards a heartbreaking finale! And lest we forget, a new companion waits in the wings for an exhilarating Christmas Special! (August 25th-September 22nd)
