It's quickly becoming apparent for Doctor Who fans everywhere that the influence of the 50th Anniversary year on popular culture these next twelve months will be massive. Already, we've had releases such as collector's stamps, BFI screenings, a UK Watch season of classic story re-runs throughout the year, Series Seven Part Two (the eight-episode conclusion to this epic anniversary season) and a 50th Anniversary Special confirmed to release this year, yet it seems that all of that's just the tip of the iceberg.
To add another celebratory offering to the proceedings, Puffin Books and BBC Worldwide have today announced the release of eleven new eBook short stories on eReader and tablet devices on a monthly basis. The linked tales will each focus on one of the eleven Doctors, month by month, and they'll all be written by famous British children's authors who have shown a passion for the show in its fifty-year history. Each story will be released on the 23rd day of the month to coincide with the anniversary itself on November 23rd, so we're just twenty days away from the first read. For those who don't own Kindles or other such tablets, an Anthology compilation paperback will be released via retail stores on the high street shortly after the big day in November.
Puffin Books and BBC Worldwide also confirmed a few more brand new books heading our way from the world of Who this year- see the full list below...
