An interesting line-up, to be sure: as I predicted, Harry Potter's garnering a lot of praise for its visuals and soundtracks, but nothing anywhere near the 'Best Film' region, although I'm sad to see War Horse, a far superior film in my opinion, in a similar position. Rise of the Planet of the Apes easily deserves the SFX award, and I'd give the 'Rising Star' title to Chris Hemsworth or Tom for their various roles. I'll be delivering full verdicts on Drive, The Artist and Hugo, all of which are gaining a lot of acclaim, later this year.
