Will There Be A Kick Ass 2?

Kick-Ass remains one of my favourite films of 2010 to this day, so any chance of a sequel to it would be a welcome pleasure in my books. Will there be a new instalment, though? The first film's producer Jane Goldman recently had this to say on the matter: "I think the one thing that is fairly sure right now is Matthew [Vaughn, the director] doesn't have any plans to direct it. He and I are not currently talking about writing it either. It may well be that Matthew oversees in a producer role...it's very tempting, we had such a wonderful time making it." For now, then, it seems we won't be getting a big screen adaptation of Mark Millar's Kick-Ass 2 comic book anytime soon, at least until 2014, but at least the team of the original do agree that they had a great time working on it- that fun they had could be what drives them to return for a sequel...
