This year's looking like a pretty busy one for the world of television, what with the Olympics, the UEFA Euro Cup, the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and many more real-world events getting big live coverage from a variety of channels, plus many great dramas and comedy series making returns to their respective homes on the small screen. Digital channel Sky1 have announced their main TV highlights for the first quarter of this year, with current airdates (most of which for now remain vague at best) also provided for each show:

- MODERN FAMILY: February 2012
- THE MIDDLE: February 2012
- THE SIMPSONS: March 2012
- GLEE: TBC Spring 2012
- RAISING HOPE: TBC Spring 2012
Already, then, Sky1 are bringing their game against the strong competition the BBC has been posing recently with programmes like
Sherlock, Public Enemies and
Hustle, but it'll be up to the wider viewing audience to see which channel gets the most viewers every week, and it'll certainly be interesting to see which episodes of which new and old entries in the line-up reach the Top 20 most popular broadcasts of 2012 come its announcement in December.
