From this month onwards, there seems to be an upsurge of new video games hitting our consoles, with The Witcher 2, Max Payne 3, The Amazing Spider-Man, LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, Sleeping Dogs and Transformers: Fall Of Cybertron all set to debut before the end of August. Violent superhero open-worlder Prototype 2 is looking pretty impressive so far, and with just a few days left to go until its release a couple of reviews have surfaced for the new title...
GAMESMASTER- 86%: "Prototype 2 gives power to the player in ways many titles can only dream of: it gives you options, lets you explore and experiment, and it's a riotous and compulsive experience. Drink it in."
OFFICIAL PLAYSTATION MAGAZINE- 9/10: "The combat recalls God Of War meets Batman: Arkham City, though it's far more simplistic. Although the oft-repeated dodge moves and finishers against tougher identikit enemies grate before the end, it's a gore-packed sandbox masterpiece that is far superior to the original and a compelling counterpart to Infamous 2."
So it's good news so far for Radical and Activision, but will the praise continue? I'll be giving you my own definitive verdict on Prototype 2 and the likeliehood of it being a Game of the Year nominee after the blog's brief three-week hiatus; Prototype 2 ships on Tuesday, April 24th.
