Batman Vs. Superman Delayed

The Man of Steel and the Dark Knight will go head-to-head nearly a year later than planned!
Warner Brothers Pictures have today announced that the global release date of their upcoming superhero film Batman Vs. Superman has been pushed back. The news comes in the midst of a wave of updates on Marvel and DC's upcoming motion picture outings, including Michael Douglas' casting as Hank Pym in the former's 2015 flick Ant-Man.

As to why this much-anticipated sequel to Man of Steel has been delayed by ten months, Warner Brothers had this to say: "[The move will offer] the filmmakers time to realize fully their vision, given the complex visual nature of the story. The decision was made following the shift of the start of production to [the] second quarter of this year." This altered release date doesn't only affect the previously over-stuffed 2015 slate of superhero movies, either, since the crossover instalment will now launch on the exact date that another (currently untitled) Marvel Cinematic Universe film is set to première. 2016 is already set to offer up X-Men: Apocalypse, The Amazing Spider-Man 3, How To Train Your Dragon 3, Finding Dory, Alice In Wonderland 2, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Ice Age 5, the first of Disney's Star Wars spin-off entries and Avatar 2, of course- in other words, Zack Snyder and his production team are outrageously mistaken if they think that the shift will make the situation any simpler commercially.

Batman Vs. Superman will now release in cinemas worldwide on May 6th, 2016.
