The Elder Scrolls Online: Limited Imperial Edition Announced

Bethesda's latest fantasy RPG just got even bigger, as a Special Edition of Elder Scrolls Online is revealed.
Bethesda Game Studios have today announced the retail and digital release of a Special Edition version of their upcoming fantasy MMORPG The Elder Scrolls Online. Launching first on PC and Mac devices in the Spring, the development team's first fully-fledged online multiplayer experience will then be ported over to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in this Summer's opening months.

With RRPs of £89.99 and £79.99 for the physical and digital expanded packages respectively, naturally Bethesda must justify fully their customers' increased investment in order to guarantee it. Here, then, is a definitive round-up of the extra content that fans purchasing either version of the Limited Imperial Edition will receive on launch day:

PHYSICAL LIMITED IMPERIAL EDITION
  • A 12'' statue of Molag Bal (voiced by Malcolm McDowell in Online's narrative).
  • A 224-page guide to Tamriel illustrated and penned by Imperial scribe Flaccus Terentius.
  • A 21'' x 26'' map of Tamriel with details of faction-held zones and hidden secrets.
  • An exclusive playable Imperial character, an exclusive horse, a pet and an XP boost.
DIGITAL LIMITED IMPERIAL EDITION
  • Access to The Elder Scrolls Online five days prior to the game's worldwide launch.
  • 30 free days of gameplay time (i.e. with no monthly subscription fees).
  • An exclusive playable Imperial character, an exclusive horse, a pet and an XP boost.
Just in case those of us meagre players who can't afford to shell out on Special Edition packages felt neglected, however, Bethesda have provided an additional incentive to purchase the 'Standard' edition. In its basest form, Online (when pre-ordered) will have 'The Explorer's Pack' bundled with it, a DLC token which offers its owner a Scuttler vanity pet, four new treasure maps and nine available races to choose from when they craft their primary in-game avatar. In other words, today's announcements reaffirm that no matter which version you select come launch day, it's a win-win scenario. Check out a newly-unveiled cinematic trailer for the product's main campaign below...

The Elder Scrolls Online retails for PC and Mac devices on April 4th and launches on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 this June.
