With the Game of the Year list done and dusted, it's time to move on to this year's Top 15 movies, starting with the five at the bottom of the shortlist...#15: RANGO (7/10)- An intriguing animated take on the Western genre from Johnny Depp, Rango actually turned out as quite a bold and unique flick which (despite being passed up by many audiences) may well go down as one of the animated greats in a few years with hindsight.
#14: TINKER, TAILOR, SOLDIER, SPY (7/10)- I thought the possibilities of Oscars for this one were a little bit overhyped, seeing as it doesn't perhaps make use of its spy/detective roots as well as it should have, but in terms of staying true to its novel source material Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy did Ian McEwan proud!
#13: I AM NUMBER FOUR (8/10)- The novel I Am Number Four is seriously worth your time over this Christmas break. This blockbuster adaptation focused on the action segments that seem mandatory for dumb audiences nowadays a little more than I would have liked, and some of the casting seemed a bit off, yet there was still a lot of fun to be had here.
#12: THE INBETWEENERS MOVIE (8/10)- Truly a British franchise that deserved a big screen take, The Inbetweeners was always a great comedy to watch on Channel 4, but The Inbetweeners Movie managed to take things one step further on a hilarious romp abroad for the boys. It's no Hangover (or Hangover: Part II), but this one is certainly worth your time on Boxing Day!
#11: PAUL (8/10)- Another great comedy, this time from the minds of Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. Yep, despite its silliness there was no denying the pair of comic greats had stumbled onto another hit in their sci-fi love letter starring Seth Rogen...and of course Sigourney Weaver- Best. Cameo. Ever.
