Travellers Tales have a great record on their LEGO franchise so far, but taking the risk of releasing three new film adaptations in the same year was a tough choice even by their standards. While the new Star Wars and Harry Potter sequels were fun additions to the series, it was easily Pirates of the Caribbean's four-flick game version that managed to win me over as choosing it as one of the best games of the year. The hilarious gags of the adapted scenes remained fully intact, yet on top of that TT Games managed to muster a beautiful visual engine and refine their award-winning gameplay to its maximum potential, finally utilising their ability to craft multi-levelled and impressive puzzles without the constant difficulty shifts making the experience feel like a monotous one. Yep, as kids' games went in 2011, they didn't come any better than LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game!
