Warner Brothers' production team on the new DC superhero film Man Of Steel have begun revealing all new details on their much-anticipated project. On top of the reveal yesterday by director Zack Snyder that Kryptonite won't be a part of this film due to its rather reductionist ability to make the Superman films predictable and unrealistic, WB president Jeff Robinson has been chatting to Entertainment Weekly about what's to come. Here's a full roundup guide to everything Robinson had to say...
- ON THE MAN OF STEEL UNIVERSE- "I think you'll see that, going forward, anything can live in the world. [The Nolan] Batman was deliberately and smartly positioned as a standalone. The world there was very isolated without any knowledge of any other superheroes. What Zack and Chris have done with Man Of Steel is allow you to really introduce other characters into the same world."
- ON WHETHER THE NOLAN BATMAN FILMS STANDALONE- "They do, or they did. Where we go in the future is a whole other conversation. [But Nolan and Christian Bale aren't back together in JLA."
- ON THE FUTURE- "We'll announce something in the next several weeks that will hopefully position the DC characters and the movies we're going to be making."
So it seems as if we'll have a more integrated DC Cinematic Universe a la Avengers in place once Man Of Steel has hit cinemas. In addition, it appears that DC Films and Warner Brothers are getting ready to reveal where their adaptation franchise heads next- could Man Of Steel 2 and Justice League be the first steps in the future? We'll have all the big news on DC's film future for you after the hiatus, provided nothing is revealed before April 29th!
Man Of Steel flies into cinemas worldwide on June 14th.
