Who News: Finale Title Announced, New Promos Revealed

The Name Of The Doctor is revealed this May...
The BBC Press Team for Doctor Who's marketing campaigns have gone on something of a blitz in terms of promotions for the second half of the new 50th Anniversary season this week. We've had new posters, a new DWM cover (see below the list), new episode titles and new episode synopses aplenty released in the last few days, and typically enough, we here at On-Screen have worked our magic to bring you all the big reveals in the same place. Here, then, is our definitive guide for what's to come in the next four episodes of Doctor Who after tomorrow's Hide...

  • EPISODES 5-8 POSTERS- One key advancement in the BBC's reveals about the current season of Who ahead of tomorrow's broadcast of Hide is the release of four new promotional posters for the second half of this 50th Anniversary season of blockbuster adventures. Consisting of Journey To The Centre Of The TARDIS, The Crimson Horror, Nightmare In Silver and the season finale- more on that in a moment- this set of posters does a fantastic job of teasing the days ahead for the show, and you can see the remainder of this half's posters below...
  • THE CRIMSON HORROR SYNOPSIS- Another reveal has been a teaser text preview for Mark Gatiss' second episode of the run (after Cold War), The Crimson Horror. Here's the synopsis in full: "There's something very odd about Mrs Gillyflower's Sweetville mill, with its perfectly clean streets and beautiful people. There's something even stranger about the bodies washing up in the river, all bright red and waxy. When the Doctor and Clara go missing, it's up to Vastra, Jenny and Strax to rescue them before they too fall prey to the Crimson Horror!" It sounds like there'll be a period drama filmic feel to this third-from-last adventure, a Doctor-lite one by chance that could deal with the fact that Clara is crossing over to a timeline where another of her past selves existed!
  • THE NAME OF THE DOCTOR ANNOUNCED- Easily the most exciting reveal this week came today, as the BBC announced spectacularly the name of this 50th Anniversary blockbuster season's finale: The Name Of The Doctor. Featuring Matt Smith as the Eleventh Doctor, Jenna-Louise Coleman as Clara Oswald, Alex Kingston as River Song, Neve McIntosh as Vastra, Catrin Stewart as Jenny, Dan Starkey as Strax, Richard E Grant as the Great Intelligence and the mysterious new Whispermen, this should truly be a thrilling prelude adventure to the 50th Special later this year. Prepare, because as the new DWM cover below reveals, we're going to the Fields Of Trenzalore as the Doctor's friends are kidnapped and draw him to the one place in time and space he should never go...with the TARDIS' windows shattered in the movie poster and the Doctor looking solemn, is there any hope for him to make it out of the Fall Of The Eleventh alive? The truth begins here...
Doctor Who continues this Saturday with Hide at 6.45pm on BBC1.
