This year's biggest sci-fi is just 1/4 of a year away...
Fans of the Alien franchise will like me undoubtedly be eagerly anticipating the release of prequel Prometheus this Summer. Taking place thirty years before the original (2085), the new movie follows a team of scientists investigating humanity's origins among the ruins of an ancient civilisation, only to find that the secrets they unlock threatening the destruction of their race. Ridley Scott is keeping predictably quiet on the film's ties to Alien, but the first viral teaser shows Peter Weyland (whose organisation is involved in the classic 1977 horror) speaking to an audience in 1923 about the legend of Prometheus and the fire that followed in his wake, setting up the legends that will prove vital to the upcoming flick's storyline. It's exciting stuff to be sure, and I'd say you can expect more viral previews just like this in the lead-up to Prometheus' release in cinemas on June 17th.
